Seventeen chapters on the device itself, not on the files you put on it. The device is the part nobody teaches you, and it is the part that decides whether the whole thing gets used or goes back in a drawer.
It starts with what the device is deliberately bad at, so that nothing later reads as a fault. Then the first thirty minutes, the settings that are hard to undo, six import routes and the ceiling that fails ugly, the file system and the page level tag that makes a long notebook searchable, nine writing tools, what the subscription really buys, every export route, and the chapter on what to try first when it goes wrong.
Four editions, and you get the one for your device. They are separate books rather than four columns in one, because there is no correct shared answer for the things that matter. Marker tilt is 50 degrees on the reMarkable 2 generation and 60 on the Paper Pro generation. The Paper Pure takes Paper Pro generation Markers and will not take reMarkable 2 Markers. Half the colour chapter is noise on a monochrome panel. Each edition prints your number in the sentence and drops the sections that are not about your device.
Written against software 3.27 and dated on its face. The material has dates in it that make an older guide wrong: the Protection Plan cutoff of 28 April 2026 is the clearest example.
Every edition is set to its own device’s canvas, so it reads on the screen it is about rather than letterboxing inside it. A clickable contents page, and every page reaches the contents again from its running head. One chapter of the seventeen mentions our own files, and it answers the two questions people ask before buying: whether a planner library fills the device, and how our files behave on it.
